Stars, Timelapse, Night Photography Series

In light of the meteor shower that we had a couple days ago, I got inspired and decided to setup some long exposure time-lapse photos right here in my back yard. While conditions were perfect, and gear was setup – I didn’t realize that clouds were soon rolling in and would end up completely botching my plan to get 6 hours of earth’s rotation, and ended up getting only 1.5 hours of rotation . . . . bummer. But, there’s always next week or whenever the next clear night will be. Stay tuned for links to the video sequence, clouds and all!

Child getting up from blanket outside with flowers in Tennessee

Sunlit, Golden-hour portraits of Micah

This past weekend, Carey and I had a chance to shoot a very laid-back, fun children’s session with Caitlin, Micah and Chris at Oakland Mansion in Murfreesboro.  The light outside was simply perfect and we decided to use only the reflector to fill in the shadows of this adorable four-year-old girl.  Caitlin is a very talented stylist at H2O Hair Studio in Murfreesboro off of Cason lane, which is where I had the pleasure of meeting her.  Her husband Chris is an equally talented landscaper and it was all smiles capturing Micah from the shy beginning to the glowing end of our evening together getting some delicious Sonic ice cream.

Food Network Cookbook Shoot!

I can’t believe it but after years of trying to shoot a cookbook, I finally won the battle!! Okay so it didn’t ACTUALLY get published in Southern Living Magazine, but it did make it to their blog!  I’m a bad note taker and forgot to write down what each meal was since it wasn’t part of my job – unfortunately I have no idea . . . . any guesses?
